PARISHIONERS' PRAYER
Dear Lord,
We come together to pray for our pastor, Monsignor Joseph Granato, and for our church, St. Lucy's, on behalf of which we, the parishioners, feel a responsibility to take a stand, in steadfast adherence to the vision, mission and values which we have been taught by Monsignor.
We ask, dear Lord, your blessings upon our parish as we pray to keep our shepherd, Monsignor Granato, here at St. Lucy's, that he may continue to comfort us and guide us on our path to You. We also ask that You, dear Lord, and your Blessed Mother accompany us in our procession and in all we do in the coming days to petition the Archbishop to grant our plea that Monsignor may remain here with us, until You see fit to call him home.
We believe that prayer changes things. God invites us to present to Him our requests and to pray unceasingly. The very most we can do is the least we can do: pray! And so, in this fight to save our Catholic traditions, we ask the greatest soldier to lead us in battle with the prayer of St. Michael and with a prayer of protection to our Blessed Mother.
Together we pray:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God
rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the divine power of God, cast out Satan and all the evil
spirits who wander throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this
confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do
I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word
Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer
me. Amen.
